DESIGNER SUZANNE KASLER COLLABORATES WITH LA CORNUE

Suzanne Kalser for La Cornue

For over a century La Cornue has manufactured one of the most beautiful French ovens and ranges. With their superb styling, these professional grade appliance are the workhorse of the kitchen.  Their design combines artistry with quality craftsmanship, function and flair. Their parisian style is definitely seductive and without a doubt their presence automatically elevates the appearance of any cook space. Their distinctive design and immaculate attention to detail is what makes this stove the star of the kitchen.

The story behind La Cornue is above all a story of a family business and a passion shared by 3 generations. Today, over a century after its first appearance, La Cornue remains without rival.   — La Cornue

Last week at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas,  La Cornue unveiled new colors resulting from their collaboration with designer Suzanne Kasler.

Suzanne has a love for Parisian style and uses it as her inspiration and new color palette for the “La Corne Suzanne Kasler Couleur Collection”. Her inspiration seems most appropriate given that La Cornue is a luxury french brand.

La Cornue currently offers three oven/range products with a variety of custom options, including what they have dubbed “Culinary Architecture” which includes custom cabinetry and stylish colors, even offering “griege” which debuted in Fall 2015. If you would like to see a bit more of La Cornue, here are a few high end, high style kitchens that feature their product.

La Cornue products can be incorporated into almost any design style.  They can be seen in traditional designs (photo above) and more contemporary, modern designs (photo below) while looking equally fabulous.

As you can imagine La Cornue is a luxury brand that certainly doesn’t fit into everyone’s budget (The version I priced out at a showroom was the price of a luxury car).  I don’t see a La Cornue stove in my future (I don’t cook) but I can definitely respect them as a company. Given that they have been around for a century there is something to be said for longevity. In the meantime I will leave La Cornue to the professional chef or those with serious money looking for high style. As for me…well, I will continue to admire them from afar.

I love the looks of the range, especially the black ones. Like you, they are out of my price range. When we remodeled our kitchen in 2003 we sprang for a Viking range. I’ve loved it and it seemed very expensive at the time. I love to cook and it has been a very good cooking tool. It’s fun to see the various examples, especially in some of these beautiful kitchens.

Viking is nice. Good to hear a positive recommendation. I think when we get to remodeling out kitchen I might take a look at Viking or Wolf. My Mr. B cooks a little and either brand is still probably more than we need. But I want something that looks good and functions well. The kitchen is probably one of the last projects we have planned to work on since its the most intrusive with daily living. We shall see what we end up with when the time comes….
      Have a great weekend, Karen!
