Not only were we celebrating Valentines this weekend, it was also recognized as President’s Day weekend in the United States and today is officially President’s Day celebrating George Washington’s Birthday, the first President of the United States. It is also popularly recognized as honoring all U.S. Presidents.  I love this image of Abraham Lincoln (born on February 12) and can’t help but be inspired by his simple words of wisdom that continue to be relavent. They are words to live by today…and everyday.

Do not worry; eat three square meals a day; say your prayers; be courteous to your creditors; keep your digestion good; exercise; go slow and easy. Maybe there are other things your special case requires to make you happy, but my friend, these I reckon will give you a good lift.   –Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States of America

That has been a favorite Charles Faudree image ever since his book “Details” was published. It’s a striking painting of Lincoln and the simplicity of the dresser, lamps and blue and white planter is perfection. Enjoy your day, I hope you didn’t have to work today.

      Hi Karen –
Yes, I absolutely love this image. I agree that it does scream perfection. I am so happy that you have identified the designer. Seems like we both have an affinity for the late Charles Faudree.I have had this image saved for quite some time but hadn’t done the research to see where it originated…now I don’t have to. Thank you! Have a great rest of the week.
