I am always intrigued of stories I hear about people who take the risk and make a dramatic change in their lifestyle for something more fulfilling. You know… the people who throw caution to the wind and give up it all up in exchange for life completely opposite of the normal day-to-day life they are accustomed to. Admittedly, I am sometimes somewhat envious…
This is the case with fashion Designer Hanne Benoist and her husband, Gilles. They gave up city life and closed up their Paris based boutique to move to the countryside and build their dream home in the village of Gordes, France. Their daughter served as the architect for the job and she did an amazing job respecting the surroundings as the buildings blend seamlessly with the rural landscape, as if they have always been there. After digging around trying to find more about the property I learned that escaping to a French farmhouse can actually be a reality…at least on a temporary basis. In fact, you can escape to this very one. The family rents rooms in the five room guesthouse, known as LE MAS DE LA TANNERIE, or if you prefer you can rent the entire house. Here is a look at the entire property. Doesn’t it look like the perfect retreat from the stress of everyday city life?
If you are looking for some new reading about another risk taker then head over to After Orange County where the site’s author, Celia, shares her life after leaving Orange County, California. Celia “ran for the hills” to set up a new home for her and her family in Lake Arrowhead, California. The site provides lovely features on topics such as decorating, cooking and entertaining. Every time I read Celia’s site, I dream of buying my very own cabin in the mountains. Celia…do you care for a new neighbor? LOL.
