Kitchen of the Day

Renovating the kitchen is one of the improvements to our seaside ranch home that is still on the list of things to do. Luckily the prior owners installed new granite countertops and new appliances. We changed the color of the cabinets by painting them white and adding crown molding. We knew these would be temporary fixes until we can muster the courage to undergo a complete kitchen renovation. I’ve been hoarding¬†pictures of pretty kitchens and thought I would share this one that is in the current issue of Homes & Gardens Magazine. From top to bottom, I love every detail of this space. I particularly like the lack of overhead cabinets and the vast amount of windows keeps the space filled with natural light. I only wish they published additional pictures of this space because I need to know where they put the microwave!¬†kitchen quotes via reviving charm

Love, love, love that kitchen, complete with a fireplace no less. I agree, there is nothing like a light-filled kitchen with a view. And, I too would happily forgo upper cabinets for windows like that. On the other hand I adore the floor to ceiling cabinets on the reverse side. Absolutely perfect. I hope you incorporate every detail when you get to work on your kitchen.

When it actually comes time to renovate the kitchen I already know there will be some tough decisions involved, particularly since there are so many great options out there. I’m sure I’ll be asking my readers for a little bit of advice. As much as I would love to forego the upper cabinets, we just don’t have the space to do so. But I love the floor to ceiling cabinetry on the opposite side. It makes the space feel like more of a “room” and less of a kitchen. If that makes any sense? I’m sure the fireplace helps add to that feeling, too!
