A Family Home in Long Island by Frank de Biasi

The current issue of Veranda magazine features the North Shore Long Island home of a family of five (and their 3 dogs) who vacation here on the weekends and in the summer. The interiors of the home were designed by New York designer Frank de Biasi. Intrigued by the images in Veranda, I quickly took to de Biasi’s website to see if he featured the home. This post includes a combination of portfolio pictures as well as those from the magazine in order to provide a more comprehensive look at the home. Let’s take a tour, shall we?

I am a sucker for a classic colonial and love the stone walkway. But it’s too bad that the front door is offset. I prefer a more symmetrical look. interior designer frank de biasifrank de biasi 4The beautiful parquet flooring is from a Paris flea market and the design of the staircase takes my breath away.

The living room is probably one of my favorite rooms in the home. From top to bottom, I love everything about this room. frank de biasifrank de biasfrank de biasifrank de biasifrank de biasi frank de biasi kitchenThe kitchen featured above is from Veranda, while the one below is from the designer’s portfolio. Isn’t it interesting what a little professional staging can do?

Our own guest bedroom is outfitted with a daybed so I love to see how other people incorporate a daybed into their own design. I am particularly fond of those with a more sophisticated, grown-up look like this one. frank de biasi bedroom

If this were my home I would love to see a beautiful pool installed on the vast green lawn. But in the spring and summer, it might be a great place to set up a game of croquet. If I wasn’t swimming or playing yard games, I would spend time in the large greenhouse that is used for growing orchids. I am sure I could easily call this place home and never be bored.

Wow, and that’s their weekend house? It would be extremely difficult for me to want to return to my “weekday” home if that was my house! I love the designer’s work and will definitely be watching for more designs my this talented designer.
    Happy Monday!
