A Time to Remember

This morning I attended a lovely Remembrance Ceremony at the headquarters of a Southern California fire station as I do each year. The centerpiece is a memorial dedicated in 2013 that is comprised of a steel artifact, one of approximately 2,000 steel pieces from the World Trade Center that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey distributed to municipalities and non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. and select foreign locales.

 May we never forget…

    Thank you for posting this.
I read an article today about a town named Gander in Newfoundland. The small town opened their hearts and homes to the many stranded passengers from diverted planes. Gander received a section of WTC steel as a gift of thanks from the Bethpage Fire Department on Long Island, N.Y.
