Jenna Lyons, J.Crew President and Executive Creative Director, announced earlier today that she will be stepping down after working for the company 26 years. She made no announcement on where she plans to go next but I’m curious to see where she lands. She made a huge impact on the direction of the company (read Vogue’s take on it here) and it will be interesting to see what direction her predecessor Somsack Sikhounmuong will ultimately take as the new Chief Design Officer. Somsack is no stranger to J. Crew since he worked for the company more than ten years before moving over to Madewell as head designer. He has since moved back to J.Crew in 2015. However, Lyons will stay on as a creative advisor until the end of her current contract, which expires in December 2017.

I first remember seeing Jenna’s nineteenth-century Brooklyn townhouse previously featured in Domino magazine many, many years ago. She sold it in 2012 and the owners transformed it with the help of designers Roman and Williams. I absolutely love what they did with the place.
I love this apartment and have long thought that Jenna’s work on it was wonderful.
Thanks for sharing the update.

Yes, there isn’t one thing I don’t absolutely love about that home. The beautiful moldings are unbelievable! They don’t make them like that anymore. And that yellow wallpaper in the powder room, the amazing clawfoot tub bathroom, the light-filled kitchen…swoon…
