Ah, winter….the time of year when us city folk start thinking about heading out of town for a peaceful vacation in the mountains. Those of us living in Southern California are really quite fortunate in that we can enjoy our local mountains just a few short hours away by car ride. We often joke that we can see the beach, mountains and desert all in one day. Our local mountains are quite lovely and I am so happy to hear about the amount of snow we’ve already received. If you want to see it for yourself, take a tour of the beautiful winter wonderland in Lake Arrowhead, California captured by my fellow blogger friend Celia in her post here. The images surrounding her property are just divine.

I’ve never been to Switzerland in the winter (or anytime, for that matter) but would someday like to pay a visit. And when I do I would sure hope that I could call a charming Swiss chalet home for a few nights. It would be heavenly to stay in a place like Chalet Kernow in Verbier, Switzerland decorated by English designer Marion Lichtig. I can already see myself sitting by the fire, sipping on a cup of hot chocolate while enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the snow capped mountains. I wonder if they could spare one of the 6 bedrooms? If I have options, I just might call first dibs on the top bunk!

Good morning Vanessa and thanks so very much for the shoutout and link to my blog post. We truly are blessed here in Southern California, with as you say the ocean, mountains and desert attainable in just a short drive. Even though I reside in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, I still love to get away, even to other mountain resorts like places in Switzerland where I have been fortunate to visit. The Swiss Alps, Zurich, Lake Lucerne to name a few are absolutely divine. We went there last May and I have yet to post about my visit. Now I will have to do so soon, as your post of this magnificent chalet has brought back wonderful memories. XO

Good morning! The shoutout was a pleasure…I am always happy to support friends!

I sure hope you do post about your trip to Switzerland. I bet May was a great time to visit. For now I will live vicariously through your photos when you post but hopefully Mr. B and I will make it there together someday. Have a great week.
