In yesterday’s post I wrote about National Library Week. And while I love books, I will be the first to admit that I rarely have time to read one. I have been wanting to book (no pun intended) a relaxing vacation to get caught up with things on my reading list. For quite some time Mr. B and I have talked about spending some “down time” on Lake Winnipesaukee and I wish I could find a place like Boulder Lodge that was available to the public. Boulder Lodge is actually a gorgeous 6 acre property built in 1840 with over 600 feet along the lake. It was once owned by the Lipton family and is currently on the market for $4.5 million. In addition to the main house, it is developed with 5 guest cottages making it the quinntessential camp-like compound. I don’t think I would actually like to own a place like Boulder Lodge due to the amount of upkeep it would require to maintain it properly but I wouldn’t mind being a guest for an extended period of time. It looks like the perfect peaceful retreat to enjoy some quiet time. If you know anyone who wishes to purchase it be sure to ask them if they can spare a room (or a cottage!) for a few nights. Afterall, I have some reading to do.
Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgement will be surer. –Leonardo Da Vinci

Oh boy, you’ve got my travel desires all riled up now. I too would LOVE a relaxing vacation where I could find time to read a book. What a concept! When I travel it’s always “If it’s Tuesday it must be Belgium” if you know what I mean. We go, go, go, cramming in as much as we possibly can. What a wonderful spot that New Hampshire compound is! Thanks for showing it to us.
That would be an wonderful getaway. It would be fun if it were listed with VBRO and you could invite a few couples to join you—they would have to be in a cottage and of course, you and Mr. B would be in the main house. Sounds like fun…although you might not get much reading done! I’m able to keep up with my reading by using Audible. It allows me to listen to the unabridged books while I’m gardening or cleaning house! 🙂
xo,
Karen
Oh, Karen, I like your way of thinking! Imagine it as a VBRO? What a luxurious rustic retreat. Care to join us? Lol.
I forget about Audible. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will have to give that a try.
