I’m glad it’s Friday but where did the week go?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and find a way to stay cool. I have a busy weekend filled with home projects (installing a new light fixture), breakfast with a friend, a neighborhood party and running errands in between. I don’t have time to go to the spa but am hoping I can find time to do a facial and manicure at home. A mini spa day (or few hours) at home would be a relaxing treat.

Enjoy your weekend and enjoy all the little things life has to offer… xoxo, v.

I took this picture while visiting Brookline, Massachusetts (a Boston suburb) on our trip to New England last Fall. When I took this picture I remember falling in love with everything about this house, including the black door. I didn’t notice the location of the mailbox slot until looking at the picture months after I took it. I never thought of putting a mailbox slot at the bottom of the door but it makes sense. It’s unobtrusive and if anyone tries to peek in they really won’t be able to see much. But I wonder if I would get tired of bending over each day to pick up mail scattered across the floor? I’m going to guess yes.

I hope you enjoy this picture as much as I do. I thought it was particularly appropriate for today since I like to consider Friday the “door to the weekend”. It’s a weekend full of possibility since Mr. B and I don’t actually have much planned. What about you?

Thankfully, I only have one thing on my calendar this weekend and that is to meet a friend at the Long Beach Aquarium with her active 5 year old twins. I don’t spend a lot of time around children so this should be quite the eye opening experience for me. I look forward to spending time with them and having fun but my only goal is to make sure they don’t get lost or go home scraped, bruised, or with any broken body parts. Sidenote: I love the look of a black door so much that I devoted an entire post to it. If you missed it you can check it out here.

It’s the first day of July! Can you believe it? And it’s also Fourth of July weekend which means an opportunity for summer fun. It’s been a busy week at work with much transition underway so I am happy to slow down the pace of life a bit over the long weekend. I also plan to catch up on some reading as my magazines are starting to pile up. Does anyone else have that problem? I think it’s finally time to convert my subscriptions to digital.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. Have fun and stay safe!

By the way…in case you are wondering…this isn’t our house. I took this picture while on a trip to Carmel, California last year for Fourth of July weekend. Mr. B and I took several walks around the beautiful neighborhoods of Carmel which inspired me to write THIS fun, light-hearted post. It’s actually one of the first posts for the blog.

Happy Friday! TGIF. With the first week of summer almost behind us, I wanted to end out the week with a beautiful beach landscape. Little did I know that when I took a trip to Oahu last year that I was actually channeling my inner Gary Malin when I took this picture! I shouldn’t at all be surprised. After all, I love photography and thoroughly enjoy taking pictures of architecture and landscapes. I took almost 600 pictures during that short trip to Oahu and this one turned out to be one of my absolute favorite images. I love the simplicity and the coastline’s curvilinear shape. The contrast of the beautiful blue water and pristine sand is almost mesmerizing.  I am seriously thinking of having it blown up and put into a large oversized framed to hang in our family room.

Life is short. Buy the shoes. Drink the wine. Order the dessert.

Happy Friday! It is Memorial Day weekend. What are your plans? Mr. B and I usually try to take advantage of a long weekend and head out of town. A graduation dinner is keeping us home which means we might get to take advantage of some fun things to do locally. This weekend I will also be getting my hair colored just in time for the graduation dinner.  I am trying a new colorist and am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. I also hope to sit down and plan out a few upcoming blog posts, as well as do something creative. What that is, I’m not quite sure yet. At some point this weekend Mr. B and I hope to take advantage of the lovely Southern California weather by enjoying a barbeque for two. I am sure there will also be at least a couple of dinners out since we typically go out for dinner on the weekend. And in case you are wondering…I definitely won’t hesitate to order the dessert. I hope you do too. Happy weekend… xoxo, V.

Happy Friday! This picture of a secluded little resting place nestled in the garden is simply lovely. It’s making me re-think about my plans for the weekend. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to just lounge around all weekend long in a spot like this curled up with a good book or magazine? The weather has been so nice here in Southern California so I hope to be out and about enjoying the days while I run errands. The plan is to fit in some “fun” time also…although I am not quite sure what that will be yet. Have a great weekend…I hope wonderful things are in store for you.  –XOXO, V.

Happy Friday! I have been busy catching up on a few things after getting back from La Jolla earlier this week. I have several posts already planned so stay tuned! In the meantime, enjoy your Friday and the rest of the weekend. It’s supposed to be a high of 72 degrees and sunny tomorrow so I plan on spending sometime outdoors to take advantage of the beautiful weather here in Southern California.

Today I leave you with a little bit of random loveliness and a bit of fun inspiration. Enjoy your weekend in style!
