It’s the first day of July! Can you believe it? And it’s also Fourth of July weekend which means an opportunity for summer fun. It’s been a busy week at work with much transition underway so I am happy to slow down the pace of life a bit over the long weekend. I also plan to catch up on some reading as my magazines are starting to pile up. Does anyone else have that problem? I think it’s finally time to convert my subscriptions to digital.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. Have fun and stay safe!

By the way…in case you are wondering…this isn’t our house. I took this picture while on a trip to Carmel, California last year for Fourth of July weekend. Mr. B and I took several walks around the beautiful neighborhoods of Carmel which inspired me to write THIS fun, light-hearted post. It’s actually one of the first posts for the blog.

Yes Vanessa, I share your magazine problem. My husband is constantly complaining about the piles that I just can’t seem to throw out. I doubt I’ll ever take the digital route, hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I still love to tear out pages of my favorite finds, even though you’d think I could do that more efficiently on Pinterest. Oh, and speaking of Pinterest, I wish you’d add a Pinterest button to your blog posts, as you have so many great images I’d love to pin! Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Curious, how do you organize the pages from your magazines? I tried that with not much success. Instead i just ended up keeping the entire magazine. But I will be making a clean sweep this weekend.

Funny that you bring up Pinterest. I have had a Pinterest post in the works all week. More on that tomorrow! I do appreciate your comment about the Pinterest button. There are a variety of “share” buttons at the bottom of each post. I didn’t realize that a pin button doesn’t pop up on the actual images. I shows up on my screen but realize its because I installed it on google…a great tool that can pin from actually any site. I appreciate the comment and love feedback on the site as I continue to improve on a reader’s experience here.

I’ve made the cutback on magazine subscriptions—never thought I would! I find I enjoy looking at a few of them, but usually select a block of time to visit the local grocery and thumb through before buying.
Have a wonderful weekend. I love Carmel, wish I was headed there!

I use to have soooo many subscriptions then let them all run out. I slowly started subscribing again but just a very select few. I think I like the instant gratification of a getting information quickly out of a magazine. Plus, the pretty pictures don’t hurt!
