It’s no secret that one of my favorite places to be is anywhere near, at or on the water. So when I came across photos of this beach cottage in Malibu, California I was giddy with delight. Malibu is an extremely affluent and exclusive beach community that many of the rich and famous call home. If you don’t believe me, just wait until you see my next post (hint, hint!). And with so much wealth in one community, it could have been an easy decision to demolish this humble home (by Malibu standards) and start from scratch in order to “keep up with the Joneses”. It is sure refreshing to know that the homeowners, along with my favorite Los Angeles designer Windsor Smith, felt that “reviving charm” to this quintessential 1930’s beach house was in the best interest for all. I think they made a very wise decision.

What a wonderful home. I tend to gravitate towards smaller homes. I’m not in need, nor do I wish for a McMansion. This home is charming and Windsor Smith designed the furnishings to reflect the lifestyle of a beach cottage. What a great combination.
Thanks for sharing this.
