I am always intrigued of stories I hear about people who take the risk and make a dramatic change in their lifestyle for something more fulfilling. You know… the people who throw caution to the wind and give up it all up in exchange for life completely opposite of the normal day-to-day life they are accustomed to. Admittedly, I am sometimes somewhat envious…

This is the case with fashion Designer Hanne Benoist and her husband, Gilles. They gave up city life and closed up their Paris based boutique to move to the countryside and build their dream home in the village of Gordes, France. Their daughter served as the architect for the job and she did an amazing job respecting the surroundings as the buildings blend seamlessly with the rural landscape, as if they have always been there. After digging around trying to find more about the property I learned that escaping to a French farmhouse can actually be a reality…at least on a temporary basis. In fact, you can escape to this very one. The family rents rooms in the five room guesthouse, known as LE MAS DE LA TANNERIE, or if you prefer you can rent the entire house. Here is a look at the entire property. Doesn’t it look like the perfect retreat from the stress of everyday city life?

It would be wonderful to stay in this home. It’s beautiful. I like the idea of a prolonged stay someplace opposite of where we live. Paris or the Cotswolds would work! 🙂

    Dear Vanessa,

Thank you so much for mentioning my blog on your’s today! What a wonderful surprise!! Yes, it was risky to leave The OC behind, but we have found that life can be so fulfilling in the slow lane. Plus, any time I want to fight city traffic it is only 45 minutes away;). Life is really good here at 5,000 feet above & beyond. And yes, please come join us in our mountain paradise. I would love you for a neighbor!

    Warmest regards,

    Celia @
